Non-Fermi-liquid theory of a compactified Anderson single-impurity model.

چکیده
We consider a version of the symmetric Anderson impurity model (compactified) which has a non-Fermi liquid weak coupling regime. We find that in the Majorana fermion representation the perturbation theory can be conveniently developed in terms of Pfaffian determinants and we use this formalism to calculate the impurity free energy, self energies, and vertex functions. We also derive expressions for the impurity and the local conduction electron charge and spin dynamical susceptibilities in terms of the impurity self-energies and vertex functions. In the second-order perturbation theory, a linear temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity is obtained, and the leading corrections to the impurity specific heat are found to behave as T lnT . The impurity static susceptibilities have terms in lnT to zero, first, and second order, and corrections of ln T to second order as well. The conduction electron static susceptibilities, and the singlet superconducting paired static susceptibility at the impurity site, are found to have second-order corrections lnT , which we interpret as an indication that a singlet conduction electron pairing resonance forms at the Fermi level (the chemical potential). When the perturbation theory is extended to third order logarithmic divergences are found in the only vertex function Γ0,1,2,3(0, 0, 0, 0), which is non-vanishing in the zero frequency limit. We use the multiplicative renormalization-group (RG) method to sum all the leading order logarithmic contributions. These give rise 1 to a new weak-coupling low-temperature energy scale Tc = ∆exp [

متن کاملToulouse points and non-Fermi-liquid states in the mixed-valence regime of the generalized Anderson model.
We study the mixed-valence regime of a generalized Anderson impurity model using the bosonization approach. This single-impurity problem is defined by the U5` Anderson model with an additional densitydensity interaction, as well as an explicit exchange interaction, between the impurity and conduction electrons. We find three points in the interaction parameter space at which all the correlation...
متن کاملDiagrammatic Theory of Anderson Impurity Models Fermi and Non-fermi Liquid Behavior
We review a recently developed method, based on a pseudoparticle representation of correlated electrons, to describe both Fermi liquid and non-Fermi liquid behavior in quantum impurity systems. The role of the projection onto the physical Hilbert space and the impossibility of slave boson condensation are discussed. By summing the leading coherent spin and charge fluctuation processes in a full...
متن کاملFermi and Non–fermi Liquid Behavior in Quantum Impurity Systems: Conserving Slave Boson Theory
The question of Fermi liquid vs. non–Fermi liquid behavior induced by strong correlations is one of the prominent problems in metallic local moment systems. As standard models for such systems, the SU(N)×SU(M) Anderson impurity models exhibit both Fermi liquid and non–Fermi liquid behavior, depending on their symmetry. Taking the Anderson model as an example, these lectures first give an introd...
متن کاملDiagrammatic Theory of the Anderson Impurity Model with Finite Coulomb Interaction
Abstract We developed a self-consistent conserving pseudo particle approximation for the Anderson impurity model with finite Coulomb interaction, derivable from a Luttinger Ward functional. It contains an infinite series of skeleton diagrams built out of fully renormalized Green’s functions. The choice of diagrams is motivated by the Schrieffer Wolff transformation which shows that singly and d...
